Hmmm …. honestly I don’t even know where to start, but it is confession time. As I was thumbing through my scrapbook pages late last night I realized it has been over 2 years since I have actually created a new scrapbook page.
Looking back, I’m not even sure when or how it happened, but some how along the way I gave up on something I really loved for the craziness of everyday life. I think it just came down to life getting too darn busy.
Over the last two years we added child number 4 to the family, we’v been working hard to remodel our house, I’ve been battling a thyroid problem and I have been working full time building and managing another fantastic website. Between work, morning sickness, new baby exhaustion, making meals, doing homework, folding laundry and about a million other things I just stopped making the time to scrapbook.
Honestly, I was so busy I didn’t even miss it at first. Tonight, though I am longing for a creative outlet, something I can be passionate about again. As I spent some time reading articles titled things like “Is Srapbooking Really Dead?” and “Where Did All the Scrapbookers Go” it looks like I am not the only one that has stepped away for a bit lol
Tonight I am setting a goal to find a way back to the hobby I loved so much not that long ago. It looks like a lot has changed in the last few years. I am excited to see what new and exciting challenges await and very ready to start taking pictures and recording memories of my growing family again.
If anyone else is trying to get back into scrapbooking or pick it up for the first time I’m going to post some challenges. They will be baby steps at first – so don’t worry.
Week 1 Challenge – take one picture you really love. It can be of anything kids, nature, travels, anything. Just take a new photograph that will make you smile – something to get you excited about scrapbooking.
